Fashion and a Fair

So, the Maternity Fair went Great! Thanks to all who came by and said hello at my booth or wanted to book a session.

I wanted to say a big thank-you to Candi and Steven for helping me out. I totally couldn't have done this without their help! Steven, thanks for helping me break-down everything. Even though they nearly cut the lights out on us I thought we did it pretty quickly. Candi, what can I say . . . thanks for everything.

It was also so much fun to photograph the Fashion show for the local children's boutique the3sweetpeas. Jennifer did a fantastic job dressing up all the adorable children. So, when I heard the announcement for the fashion show to begin I grabbed my camera and darted from my booth up to the runway to capture a few images. Here are some of the best.

Again thanks for coming out and saying hello!

Lydia's Birthday Video

As promised, here is the Birthday Video. It has most every image I took during both parties. Enjoy!

Lydia turns ONE

Lydia turned ONE year old recently. We had two parties for her . . . one with her friends . . . one with immediate family. I took pictures the entire time. Lydia will just have to trust me that I was there. Here are some of the pictures of the parties. I will be posting a video that documents both of the parties very soon (your child's picture is probably in the video). A special thanks to "grandma" who helped Kim tremendously with everything, (including the fruit kebabs, and cutting the crust off of 1,000 mini sandwiches . . . ok, not that many, but a lot) because I was pretty useless at that. Thanks for celebrating with us! Enjoy!

Waiting for friends and family to arrive.

The Ladybug vests . . . another thing Dad was useless at.

Mom getting a chuckle out of our cute daughter being a ladybug.

A sea of Ladybugs.

When the cake was being eaten.

When the cake was gone.

Brother Caleb got into the cake action.

Birthday hugs are the best!

Tucker.

Warren Family

I had such a blast with the Warren family. Lee, Stephanie and their daughter Aubrey were so much fun to photograph. Aubrey was a riot. She was full of wonderful expressions. At times, she would just break-out in dance - no matter where we were. Aubrey brought her "lamby" (lam-ee) with her to the shoot. She clung to it for the first couple shots but then got REAL comfortable in front of the camera. I enjoyed laughing at her antics. It was obvious that Lee and Aubrey had a special bond. She loved to walk on his feet and climb on his shoulders. They laughed a lot together and really enjoy the moments they have together. Aubrey had an equally special connection with her mom. Mom was the nurturer and comforter. Aubrey loved to cuddle up with mom and give her lots of hugs and kisses. They also loved to dance together. It was so much fun capturing their individual personalities behind the lens . . . thank you Warren family for that wonderful privilege. These were just a small sampling of my many favorites. Enjoy!

Men of Faith

So, on Sunday afternoon I wondered out into the cold . . . very, very cold . . . to do a shoot with my first 'band'. Well, they are actually a quartet . . . a southern gospel quartet . . . but there's eight of 'em. They're called the Men of Faith. I haven't ever been exposed to a lot of southern gospel music, so I spent some time listening to their music on their website. They are clearly a group of talented guys who passionately sing about their love for Jesus Christ. So, I love that. You should give it a listen. They contacted me to shoot some group and individual shots for their new CD. They wanted something a little rustic and a little bit more 'contemporary'. They pulled up in their own RV and were ready to take some pictures. The RV became a place to get warm between locations and a way for them to change into different clothes for the different locations. These guys were a riot. You can tell that they are great friends and love being around each other. I really enjoyed photographing them. They were excited and willing to try different things to get the good shots. I couldn't remember all their names . . . so I just would point and say "guy in the back . . . guy second from the left . . ." Needless to say they put up with me and were very gracious. I really didn't give them as many breaks from the cold in the RV as I should have. So, if they are sick as they read this . . I'm sorry. They were troopers. Thanks guys, (Daniel, Grant, Donnie, Jeff, Melvin, Samuel, Spencer, and Trey) . . . you were a lot of fun. I hope you like your photos and they find their way to your next CD. I'm just posting my top four fav's . . . but there were a lot of great ones!

Lee Family

Aimee called me and wanted a photo-shoot with her and her adorable and beautiful daughter, Ava. Aimee wanted something new and unique, a location I hadn't photographed yet. I always love a new challenge! There were several thoughts about where to do the shoot and we finally settled on a park. Aimee and Ava had a fabulous time running around and playing together. It was so much fun to watch them and so easy to fade into the background and document the great expressions and moments. It was one of the first shoots where I rarely posed my client . . . they just naturally embraced the moment and had fun together. I have a feeling they always have a great time together. As a result there were several outstanding images. I was happy with so many . . . here's a few for you to enjoy!

My favorite family shot. I just love this photo! I enjoy how they are laughing and enjoying the moment.

Also, one of my favorite family shots.

See what I mean, she's adorable! Aimee is going to be running the boys off in about 16 years.

Ava walking on the train tracks. I love those little feet.

I enjoy this one because Aimee is getting such a kick out of Ava.

There's nothing better in the world than throwing a few leaves off a bridge. I love how the light hits the leaf . . . I know, but I notice these things.

Running on the bridge! What a great moment!

Wish'n for a puddle.

Who didn't like to pick flowers?

. . . or blow dandelions. I LOVE this photo! One of my absolute favorites!

She shared her wish with mommy. (yes dad {my Dad}, I know she's out of focus . . . the flower is in focus . . . it was on purpose.)

Also a favorite family shot.

Such a sweet moment!

I loved the rolling hills and the low sunlight.

Looking at the moon.

I'm sorry but this shot is wicked good. The sunset is awesome!
