House Family

Amber gave me a call after seeing the Cannon family photo-shoot. Amber was excited and wanted something totally new and rustic. She wanted something unique, places that none of my clients had been yet. She said she was willing to try some new locations for me. I LOVE that! So, me, Amber, and her family (J.B. and precious Aubrey) ventured out on the windiest day ever. Aubrey was adorable and just loved being outside. She wore these cute pink cowboy boots. Ya gotta love a girl who can wear some cowboy boots. They were all troopers as I drug them from location-to-location. But, as a result, I think these were some of the coolest family photos I have done to date . . . I had a really hard time choosing my favorites, but I found a few I wanted everyone to see. Enjoy!

Just hanging around. This is one of my top three images from this photo-shoot and easily in my top ten photographs ever taken. I absolutely LOVE this photograph. Aubrey kicked off her boots while she was sitting on the edge of the train station platform and it just made for a really cute photo.


I love the sky, the train station, and the sunlight . . . AND the House Family just hanging out with Aubrey's bear laying off to the side. A really cool shot.


Another really rich Black-and-White image. The Train Station just looks cool. I love how this is a moment of Amber trying to steal a kiss from Aubrey.

Taking a stroll. This is one of my top three images from the photo-shoot. I just love the color of the image, the leaning fence in the background, and the facial expression Aubrey is making.


This is my favorite Family photo. It's a moment where everyone found something to be really funny and gave some great expressions. I also LOVE the background of the old run-down factory. You can't get more rustic than this in Greenville.


Just ly'n around. Easily my favorite photo from the shoot, and in my top ten photos taken. It just screams authentic and 'being a kid'. I LOVE the pink boots in the shot and the angles. Aubrey loved the bench and just thought she'd lay down for a second. It was a great moment.


This is one of my favorite Family shots. I found this really cool wall with graffiti (don't ask me what it says . . . I have no clue) on it. The House family said they were game and I think it looks wicked-cool in black-and-white.


This was a really cool Father and Daughter moment.


I found this really cool Pepsi sign and had been wanting to take some photos of a family there. Amber and J.B were up for it and I think this image came out awesome. I love the color and how the family is enjoying cute little moment together.


Amber, J.B, and Aubrey . . . thanks for being my guinea pigs on some new locations and braving the windy weather. It was fun for me . . . I hope you had fun too!

1,000 Hits!

In a little over 24 days the blog has reached 1,000 hits. I absolutely can not believe that . . . not because I don't think its a cool blog . . . I just never anticipated this blog to blow-up so rapidly. I hope having 1,000 hits says that people enjoy seeing the photos. I know I need to thank Kim (my biggest encourager) and Abby, Amber and Shelley. . . who are regulars to this blog (maybe 500 plus hits . . . just kidding . . . not that many . . . right?). Thanks for the comments you-gals . . . honestly, I thought if you gals (moms who take LOTS of photos of their cute kids) liked my photos then I'd have a shot at a future with a camera. Plus you've referred me to your friends . . . to me, thats the biggest complement. SO . . . to celebrate 1,000 hits I am launching my new marketing 'post-card' (4x5.5). I want your thoughts on it. I'd LOVE for you to offer ANY comments on this design. I am hoping to use it kinda like business cards. I'm having them printed up . . . but I wanted your input first. Does it catch your eye? Devlin Family

The Devlin Family had seen the photos of the Keith Family and wanted something similar on the ECU campus. It's always fun to meet Pirate fans! So, we headed off to the ECU campus and spent some time around the Cupola. Students were outside studying and enjoyed watching our photo-shoot. Aidan (22 months) had the most beautiful blond hair and blue eyes. He loved motorcycles (and airplanes) and would perk up whenever he heard one (it made me aware of how many motorcycles are around . . . alot!) He is an independent little guy who liked to explore. He had fun playing with Dad's ECU helmet and sitting in the rocking chair. Aidan's 'De-De' (grandmother) came and was a big help getting some smiles out of Aidan . . . thanks 'De-De'. Brady is only 5 months old and seemed content no matter what. Near the end of our shoot we went to shoot near some barns I love and I asked Jennifer and Will if they would mind having some photos of just them. Sometimes, once you have children, you never see another photograph with just you and your spouse again. I think they are some of the best couple shots I've taken. I hope you enjoy!

Board Family

The Board family requested an 'uber' quick family photo-shoot. They wanted a family photo for their Christmas Card and they needed it quick. So everyone rushed over to my house on their lunch-breaks (even the family dog) and we literally snapped two poses in my back-yard and they were off again for some lunch. It was the fastest shoot I've done to date. I don't normally do this, but they're family - and family looks out for family - and they've totally helped us thousands of times - so here are the two poses. I loved the black-and-white versions.

Matt and the family dog . . . Flex. He looks like he'll tear you apart but he's really a softie . . . I mean Matt not the dog.

Keith Family

Shelley and Taylor wanted some family photos with their son Terry. They are big ECU Pirate fans like me and wanted some family shots on campus. It was so much fun for me to try out a new location and capture some great family moments - and on a campus I just LOVE! Terry had a BLAST running in and around the cupola. Mom and Dad chased him and he laughed and laughed. When we were done at the cupola we went over to the stadium . . . just to see if it was open. WE GOT LUCKY! It was open! We had a blast taking photos on the field and in the stadium. The football season had just ended the weekend prior so the field was still green and PAINTED! It was really a lot of fun. I actually thought about calling my family to come out to the field so I could take some shots of my son running around on the PIRATE too. It was a great idea, so kudos to the Keith's for thinking of that! There were so many excellent photos. I did my best to give you a great sampling of the best ones. Enjoy and GO PIRATES!

Ellis Family

It's always an honor to have families return for additional sessions over the years. It wasn't long ago Paul and Lisa were doing a maternity session with me. Now, Paul and Lisa wanted some family photographs of their new baby boy, Caden. We did some shots outside and then came inside for a studio session. Caden was a real champ about it . . . he gave up his comfortable crib and a scheduled nap for the photo-shoot. Instead, he slept in mommy and daddy's arms . . . the big studio lights lulled him right to sleep. Babies are hard to photograph, but when you grab a great shot . . . they are all the more treasured. I think there were some outstanding black-and-white photographs in this session. I hope you enjoy them too!
