Contest Winner!

I got a phone call over the weekend. It was a representative from ECU Athletics saying that I had won the "ASAP Pirate Pictures Contest". On a whim, (and some encouragement from a friend - thanks Seth) I submitted a photo I took at the ECU vs. UNC game on the ECU Pirates Athletics web site. It was a wide-angle photo of the entire stadium. There were several excellent photographs submitted, "203" to be exact. I was told that the ASAP Staff selected the photo. I am grateful to have had a photograph that was even considered let alone selected to win, and selected by professional photographers at that. I was told that I won a side-line pass to the last ECU home game of the season vs. Tulane. I am allowed to photograph the entire game and also get to bring along a photographer from ASAP to give me some pointers. I can't believe I won! I've never won anything in my life. Everyday Smiles

We decided that we needed to take some photos of our kids. My wife set up the backdrop in our garage and I snapped a few pictures and the photo shoot took 15 minutes! Why don't we do this more often? It's all about taking the time. Time flies by and before we know it, it's gone. It's important to capture the memories while we can...which is one of the reasons I started doing photography. One of my goals is to capture those smiles that we see everyday. I value capturing the moments of our children at a young age. I hope I'm able to do that for my clients as well.
Caleb is quite the "model" and has learned how to pose and smile for the camera. I hope you are able to catch a glimpse of his personality thru these pictures. He is growing up so fast! Lydia is 7 months old and is such a sweet baby girl! The pictures of her say it all - her smile is what we see everyday and those eyes are just gorgeous. I have said that since the day she was born. Caleb and Lydia are a gift from the Lord...they are a great reminder of God's goodness and grace. We thank Him often for these 2 precious children. Enjoy their smiles - we sure do!

Gram and Gramps

So, my parents asked me to do a photograph of my immediate family. We have had a few additions since our last one in 2002 and it was time to get a recent picture. The fall leaves were in peak season and it made for an excellent backdrop. It was by far the most difficult photo shoot I've done to date, simply because I had to be IN the photo too. The kids (Caleb, Lydia and Grace) got a lot of laughs watching the timer light on my camera blink right before the shutter would snap. Caleb really hammed it up. I thought I'd share some great photos of just the grandkids and some of them with just 'gram' and 'gramps'.





Gramps looks like he is in his element! He and Caleb are both "cheesing" for the camera...I think it's because they really are enjoying the moment.




What a sweet picture. The cousins take a break to enjoy some time in the radio flyer wagon together. I love the yellow leaves on the ground. You can't get much better color than this!

NEW PRODUCT: HOLIDAY CARDS !

Ok, I've been asked by a lot of you if I could do holiday cards. Well, I am happy to announce that now I can. I have designed 5 holiday card templates for you to choose from. THESE ARE NOT YOUR EVERYDAY HOLIDAY CARDS. I like things with a little flair. All orders are in sets of 25 and come with white envelopes. I can do 5x7 horizontal folded cards or 5x7 horizontal flat cards. The flat cards are the same as the sample folded cards below except there is no 'inside'. Orders should be received within 4-5 days from time of order.

If you want different text than what is shown in the samples below, I can change it to whatever you like, however in a different (but similar) font than shown. All backs of cards have "csmfoto.com" in small font in the bottom right corner.

Prices are as follows:

5x7 folded cards, samples 1-4: $68 (per pack of 25)
5x7 folded card, sample 5: $80 (per pack of 25)
5x7 flat cards: ($50 per pack of 25)

Whaley Family

Brock, Abby and Madalynn were so much fun to photograph. Madalynn has so many different expressions I could photograph her for hours. She LOVES m&m's and her baby-doll. They all really got into it. I found this beautiful field and some barns and they loved it! It's always fun to try out new locations. Abby has cared for my children often so I really wanted to capture some great family memories for them. I hope you enjoy!

Stith Family

Robbie and Kristy asked me if I would take a few photos of their family for a Christmas card. They have a beautiful little girl, Ava. The Stith's are returning clients and are all over my website (thanks for the encouragement!). It's always a privilege to be chosen to capture the memories and growth of a family over the years. One thing you should know, as you browse the photos let me answer one question I know you will all ask. Yes, those are Ava's 'real' blue eyes. They are not color enhanced. Absolutely stunning I know. She's a gorgeous baby. Enjoy!
