Tittle Family

The Tittle Family (Avery, Amber and Ryan) heard about me through the playgroup our children are in together. We all wondered out to the park on a fairly nasty day. It had just finished sprinkling just hours before and it was very overcast. But they were excited and ready to take some photos! Avery loved being rewarded for smiles with potato chips. My wife came to watch and was a big helper . . . Thanks! I think there were several outstanding photographs in the park. Afterwards, we tried to take some photographs in a local Christmas Tree Lot. It was fun chasing Avery with the Camera through the green trees! So here are some of the best and most interesting photographs from the shoot. Enjoy!

Tickle, tickle. I love this shot.

Sideline Photographs

As you know already, I won the ASAP Pirate Pictures Contest (see several posts below). The Grand Prize was an opportunity to photograph the ECU vs. Tulane game from the sidelines. I wanted to share some of the photographs I took. Below is a little taste of what I was able to capture. However, I have created an entire gallery for some of the best photos I took from the sidelines on my website. To access the gallery (40 plus images) simply go to my website [csmfoto.com] (there's a link at the top right of this page) and click on the 'children, family, . . . ' section on the left. Then click on the 'client' section at the top of the page. Type the following code in the space provided there:

csmecu07

However, until you get a chance to visit the entire gallery, here are a few for you to see.

TOUCHDOWN . . . #5, scores again. He'll be playing on Sunday's next year.

I never really noticed them before, but ECU cheerleaders do some crazy stunts.

The sky was incredible. . . the fans just weren't there.

Cannon Family

The day after Thanksgiving I headed out to meet up with the Cannon family. It was the first time I met Jeffrey, Amie and Emma. They were referred to me by a mutual friend who recently had their photos taken. It was cold outside but they were troopers - they smiled thru it all and had a good time with each other. Little Emma was a doll and the camera seemed to love her! The whole family is very photogenic. Jeffrey, Amie and Emma all had such great personalities...you can see it coming out in some of the photos. Emma even gave me her "best funny face"...and I promised to give her a free copy of it. I could tell that they really trusted me as a photographer because they were willing to do different poses and even act silly. They obliged me and were willing to try out some new locations, which makes the shoot even more exciting on my end! One of my favorite pictures is the one of all three of them making a silly face. What fun memories - even without a photo in hand, I hope they will look back on the day after Thanksgiving and smile. The family was going out to eat after the shoot to Cracker Barrel to celebrate and reward Emma for being such a great model. I had fun getting to know them and hope to take their pictures again in the future. So, here are your long awaited previews. Enjoy!

What a cool moment. . . Emma just got the giggles.

Thanks for humoring me with this. . . I think it looks pretty cool. I LOVE the styrofoam cup on the window ledge.

This is an excellent family shot. The lighting and color is just so cool.

Again, I love the light in this image . . . almost like a halo.

You can tell that they have a close relationship.

The camera LOVED Emma!

The 'funny face photo'! Jeff's face seriously cracks me up.

OVER 200 HITS!

Wow, my blog reached over 200 hits in four days. Thats pretty incredible to me. Thanks to all of you who have encouraged me in my photography and posted such kind comments on the blog. I do read them and I always look forward to reading them. I have been overwhelmed by the response and the numbers of people who have asked me to take pictures for them. I feel honored you guys choose me. So, thanks for the love!

Rocky Mountain National Park

This past summer I visited Rocky Mountain National Park. I took a trip with my family to the top of the park on Trail Ridge Road. This road is above 11,000 feet in elevation. It is one of the most incredible drives you could ever take in the United States. I made my family sit through a sunset at the very highest point . . . while I photographed it of course. I took these photos in June of this year and I'm just now getting them edited. Many of you have asked about my 'bonus' section on my website where I post many of my 'landscape' or 'travel' pictures. I have sold several and if you are interested in some, just let me know. So, please enjoy my best four from the sunset on Trail Ridge Road in the Colorado Rockies.

That little dot in the sky on the left . . . that's the moon.

Football Action

So, tomorrow is an exciting day for me. As I stated below, I won a local photo contest. The Grand Prize was a sideline pass and a chance to photograph the ECU vs Tulane game. So, if you are planning on going to the game in Dowdy-Ficklin Stadium at 1pm . . . look for me, I'll be doing my best not to get tackled on the sidelines. I'll try to post a few of my best photos of the game on the blog so check back often. Oh. . . and for those of you who wanted a look at the photograph I submitted I posted it below.

Stetter Family

My wife is in a wonderful playgroup for our children. Through this playgroup she met Kathleen and her ONE year old son, Rylan. They have become good friends. Kathleen and her husband Derek are moving away to Ohio very soon and wanted some family photos to take with them. Everyone did a great job modeling and I was able to snap some great images. We are sad to see the Stetter family move away, but my hope is that each time you view these photographs they will remind you of little ol' Greenville and the playgroup. Kathleen said she'd be happy with one great family photograph, well I hope I made that choice very difficult. Enjoy!

Folks . . . you can't beat this lighting.

I LOVE this photo! Their embrace sells it for me . . . you can tell they're in-love.

This image was too adorable to pass over.

The glow in this image is awesome!

Rylan liked to play UNDER my ladder. I couldn't pass up a chance to get a smile.

Kathleen . . . maybe this is the ONE family photo?

As requested . . . the lovely BARN.

Grace

My brother and his wife asked me to take some photographs of their little girl, Grace. She just turned ONE last weekend. So, we set up the backdrop and the lights in her room and started clicking away. I must admit, for me, shooting 'studio-like' photographs is more difficult than shooting outdoors. So, I played around a bit with some editing. I think several images turned out really well. Grace was a ham for the camera, especially when 'daddy' would whistle. I hope these pictures will solidify some memories of her turning ONE. Thanks Todd and Ginger for giving me the opportunity. Enjoy!

Chimney Rock

Recently we were in Asheville, NC. We left Caleb with Gram and Gramps and took a trip with baby Lydia to make some memories with her. I want to make sure Lydia doesn't feel left out being the second child. It gets a little harder with two children, to make each one feel special and appreciated in their own way. I'd forgotten how nice it was to be able to give all my attention to one child. You notice things a little bit better. I noticed her smile more, and how her dimple really comes out. I noticed her feet and the wrinkle of her toes. I was able to really focus on her and not have to worry about where Caleb was. It was a sweet time. It's sad, I know. But, sometimes you have to make a real effort to let your children feel like they have your undivided attention. So, here's a few pics from the trip overlooking the Asheville mountains from Chimney Rock!

It was a breathtaking view! If you look at the left side of the image you can see the flag pole and some tourists at the top of Chimney Rock. That's Lake Lure in the background.

She's a happy baby!
